A wedding meet cute!

In a not-so-cold winter December in Kolkata, Oishi and Arpit, two millennials in a world of dating apps and situationships, stumbled upon each other at- get this- an Indian wedding!

Talk about a meet cute. Oishi: I was a bit bored and honestly, quite lonely. I didn't really know anyone there. I came to the reception to drop off a gift for the couple and thought I’d just head back home- incidentally, the reception was happening at the ground floor of my apartment in India!

Arpit: Lucky for me!
Oishi : And me!

Arpit: Meanwhile I was rushing from work exhausted from a long day, and didn’t quite want to be there. Just a few minutes in, I saw the most beautiful girl, in a pink saree just walking around, and I just lost it. I needed to know who she was, how had I never seen this woman before, and more importantly- is she here alone or with someone?!

Oishi : Yeah and while he was standing there at a distance pondering away, I broke the ice when I found him right next to me at a point, and in typical fashion, just went- “HI! I’M OISHI!” And before he could even say anything, asked him abut the adorable elephant lapel on his suit.

(As I’m sure most of you know- its her favourite animal)

Arpit: Yep, and I introduced myself back, told her I worked in sustainability and before I knew it, she squeals “I have 3 elephant tattoos on my ankle, look!”

Funnily enough, that was that. Arpit felt something he had never before, and so did Oishi. Since that day, they have been best friends yapping away with every single thought that goes on in their heads, and falling more madly in love with each other every day.
